THE Clinic
Journal Edition 1
Welcome to THE Clinic for Stress, Anxiety and Depression.
Following years of research into the causes and cures for stress, anxiety and depression, we at the Transformational Human Experience (THE) Clinic believe we have uncovered a remedy for dissolving and moving beyond stress, anxiety and depression.
Our aim for you
This regular publication aims to educate and inform you on the subjects of stress, anxiety and depression, providing valuable, verified and peer-reviewed insight, techniques and information to help you rise above and make good the damaging impact these conditions can have.
In each of these Journal Editions we will be helping you better understand what has got you to a place where stress, anxiety and/or depression are unwelcome and unwanted states. We will guide you in the different ways that you can experience freedom from the grip they may be exerting over you.
There will also be information on how to ensure you do not become a victim of them, and how to prevent them from being a permanent part of your everyday existence.
What you need to know
We have no intention to come between you and any health professional you may be currently turning to to assist you – we’d welcome the opportunity to collaborate with them in order to secure you the levels of health and wellbeing you long for and deserve.
There’ll be no sugar-coating on what we have to say about the causes of, and the remedies for these conditions. We have enough experience in this field to know that what we have uncovered is accurate – our approach is therefore simplistic and psycho-babble-free.
Because we understand what gives rise to these conditions, we major on treating the causes. In doing so, we have come to know that these conditions can be overcome easily and permanently.
We are also advocates of an integrative, whole-person approach to resolving these states. Whilst attending to factors such as nutrition, lifestyle, supplementation and environment can have a positive impact on these conditions, we specialise in the single most significant cause – emotional mismanagement.
We concur with the findings of Harvard Medical School and The American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who, in 2005, published research confirming that somewhere in the region of 85% of physical and mental illness can be attributed to the realms of how we live our lives on an emotional level.
One year later the American Institute of Stress reported their findings, which claimed as many as 90% were down to this aspect.
If nothing else, you should read these three statements
With this in mind, here’s something for you if you are either bordering on, or lost in the depths of stress, anxiety or depression:
- You ARE NOT mad or bad or sad or broken if any of these conditions may be getting the better of you.
- Regardless of how long you may have been experiencing any of them, these conditions ARE NOT permanent when you know how, or who to trust to help you overcome them.
- Despite what you may have read or been told by any qualified health professional, these conditions have a simple-to-understand cause and remedy.
We also know that the most effective approach to making these conditions a thing of the past involves working one-on-one with someone trained in their successful, permanent dissolution. This is the service we provide at THE Clinic.
See if you agree with us
We’d like to give you an overview of what we understand to be at the root cause of all conditions that fall under the banners of stress, anxiety and depression.
There is a common theme amongst all three conditions. Mix fear with the prospect of pain and uncertainty and you have a powerful and toxic cocktail capable of creating havoc on an emotional level. Given the way the body works, a chemical imbalance will then result, in turn creating a biological and physiological breakdown.
When there is a prolonged period of demands-exceeding-resources, or worry or emotional suppression, we become adept at continuously fire-fighting until fire-fighting becomes the norm and slips into the realms of unconscious behaviour.
For any unconscious behaviour to be reversed or changed it must first be brought into our conscious awareness. Once achieved, moving beyond the behaviour is a very real and achievalbe possibility.
The critical difference between treating the cause and managing the symptoms
Because physiological, biological and chemical imbalances are the signs that something isn’t ‘right’, the Western medical model of treating symptoms rather than causes means that it is unlikely the problem will be solved, more that it will be managed.
Symptom management IS NOT the way to overcome stress, anxiety or depression. Treating the cause IS. Our work is designed to help you rid your life of stressful, anxious and depressive sensations and responses, not to manage them.
We are the first to acknowledge that stress, anxiety and depression are common… but common does not mean normal or OK.
We know that what will have got you onto any slippery slope will have simply been what we refer to as emotional mismanagement, practiced over many years, and mastered to the point of the behaviour becoming unconscious.
By emotional mismanagement we mean choosing to not fully feel or express your truest emotions, either because you didn’t know how, or because you were afraid of the consequences, or because you were programmed to shut them down or keep a lid on them. This is akin to trying to keep a number of inflated beach balls under the water all at the same time.
This stemming of the flow of how you truly felt will have become the catalyst for imbalances and the emergence of those symptoms recognized and labelled as stress, anxiety or depression.
This is not to make light of the symptoms or their impact. It is to acknowledge that what gets us to a place where we ‘have become’ stressed, anxious or depressed is not by any means a conscious choice.
Dissolving what keeps you on that slipperly slope is our starting point. A happy consequence of this is that it helps you onto a slope that allows you to reflect, be grateful, forgive, let go, embrace and enjoy everything that is positive.
These principles hold good for everyone experiencing stress or anxiety or depression. And so does the remedy we have uncovered.
Results show that what is needed first of all is relief from the burdening feelings – the mental, physical and emotional sensations – that have become all too familiar. Once done, this opens up multiple possibilities not previously considered, probably because of the fog through which your life is being lead.
Once your fog has been lifted, your life looks very different, as do the possibilities for you.
We invite you to consider taking a confident step with us and to experience the lifting of your personal fog… after which you’ll be free to experience your life through different lenses.
